Retrieving a Saro Lerwick from the Firth at InvergordonSaro Lerwick L7257 of 4 (Coastal) Operational Training Unit, 4(C)OTU, sank at it's moorings at Invergordon, during a gale, on 11th November 1941.
It is seen here in the process of being retrieved by the men of 56 Maintenance Unit, (56 MU) who were stationed at RAF Longman, Inverness. 50 gallon oil drums have been used to lift the aircraft.
