QE2 in the Cromarty FirthMy Mother Jane (Macdonald) Shivas and I were visiting relatives in Invergordon while we were on a holiday in Scotland. While we were there the QE2 Cruise Liner was at the Admiralty Pier but was due to depart. We drove up to the top of Nigg Hill to get a good view and I took this picture. It was a spectacular view and breathtaking watching this beautiful majestic ship being escorted through the Cromarty Firth and out to sea.
My father John B. Shivas wrote a poem about the Cromarty Firth which you may find of interest (just click on 'Open Document' below to see this). The year my father wrote the poem would be approximately 1980.
