Chrissie Ross on the bike and it looks like George Mackay's car in the background. Chrissie lived on Shore Rd. above the Walker's, along with her sister Cathy, brother Callum and Cathy's husband Tobit. She married George Mackay from Brora.
I think this was taken in front of Ferry Row, with Hec Macrae's house in left background.
This may be the house that Rex was commenting on regarding another Chrissie.

I used to live on the corner of Outram Street/King Street - out of interest where would these houses be located in relation to that, just trying to place them in relation to how they look today? Chrissie never really changed much over the years, I would have recognised her from this photo straight away.

Jillian, this would be on the corner of Bank Street and Shore Road, right after Hugh Millar Street.

Was this not called Ferry Row with the grass in front of the houses?
Added by Doug Will on 02 March 2008
Yes, I think so Doug, I have mentioned it in my comments on the photo. I think Ferry Row is still there, but Shore Road has changed quite a bit.

Harry, this could well be in front of Ferry Row, however I can't see the cottage being Hec Macraes for if the street is Bank Street (it would be if house shown was Hec's) the house on the left would be Harbour House which is two stories, not a bungalow type.

Duncan, I think that Harry is right with the house in the front on Ferry Row and the house in the background is H Macrae's. Harbour House was across Bank Street from the Macrae's.

Duncan, Harbour House is where Alistair Mclellan lived. It is not in the picture, it was on the west side of Bank Street with Hec's house on the other side, and Ferry Row in front.

Duncan is right to have doubts! I don't think this is Ferry Row, the gable of the most westerly house in Ferry Row is aligned with Bank Street, and the Macrae's house was directly behind, not to the left as in this picture.

I agree with Duncan and 'anon' of 07 March 2008. The houses also look too close together to be Hec's House/Ferry Row. Great picture of Chrissie though. Seen the name (Chrissie Ross) on this site before, but didn't realise it was Chrissie Mackay (e.g. in picture #919, picture #1069) - don't know why because she never changed much from her picture #963 days! George is still in town, and George Jnr and Kate too.

Thanks to all for comments. Yes you are correct, it is not Hec's house and therefore not Ferry Row. Take a look at picture #185; it shows Harbour House and Hec's house, and Hec's is a different style.
Any ideas where it might be? I cannot think of another spot like this in Invergordon.
Kmmc55, if you see George Sr. say a hi for me, thanks....
