Great photo Nesta, location looks like corner of Outram St and King St. (cobbles) if so then it would be the prefab that the Mactaggert's lived in. Mcgillvery's fish and chips behind and also a glimpse of the YMCA....

I think that is Jimmy Farquhar holding the cup and being lifted by Johnnie Allen and Doshie Benson.

Certainly looks like him Jackie; he played for Invergordon for quite a few years.

Re Doshie Benson, if my memory serves me right, I recall him being injured and a benefit match being held for him, or maybe a benefit dance. That would be in the mid 50s. Does anyone else recall?

It is certainly Jimmy Farquhar holding the cup and fourth from the right in between Rossie and Pico is Ronnie Ross, like Geordie Grant from Milton.

Billy Lamb is my Dad. I've not seen many photos of him at this age, but he is very like my cousin (his sister's son) David. My Mam now lives next door to Doshie and his wife Jeanette.

The boys club played Invergordon FC. Doshie and Jimmy Grahme ran for the ball at the final whistle. there was a collision and Doshie hit one of the posts badly damaging a kidney and bruising another. He was pretty ill and had a kidney removed. I'm afraid I passed the ball up the wing that day!!

I can recall that John, think they had a benefit dance for Doshie at Joss St hall.

Harry/John Sadly Doshie passed away during 2014. A very popular character in the town was Doshie which was reflected in the huge turnout at his funeral.

Sorry to hear that Graham, the Benson's were a bit older than me but very familiar. My late cousin Roy Daniels was more in their age group.

All the best to you Graham and to all Invergordonians...

Met Roy Daniels in Gibralter. He was with his family at that time. 1955

I met Eddy, Doshie's brother, in Dingwall a few weeks ago. Asked how Doshie was and he told me he died suddenly. It devastated me as I was his best friend and his best man at his wedding. My deepest condolences to his wife and family.

Sad news about my old friend Doshie, he always welcomed me whenever I came back to Invergordon. My sympathy to all his family R.I.P. (NIGEL)
