Perhaps this is not Invergordon Academy. Could it be Saltburn School?

Looks like the Cromlet and the number of kids the same age points to Invergordon rather than Saltburn. I recall the chairs too.

This is definitely the Cromlet, Charlie, the year 1952 I think, First year primary, outside Miss Crystal's classroom. I am fourth from left back row, and is that you second from right??

Yes, probably is Cromlet, Eddie. I did primary at Saltburn, so can't be me there! I recognise a few faces though, including yourself. Great to see all the old photos, them were the days!

This is Invergordon Academy, probably 1954. I have a framed 1955 photo of the same class - I am back row fifth from left. Other members of class I think were John Mackay and Brian McKenzie.

Is that June Girvan fifth from the right on the front row with maybe a Geddes girl - Audrey (?) - fourth from the right beside her? Come on Eddie, you will know them all. I think Seona Lyall is in there and Jane Legge?

Eddie, is that Peter Maclaren next to you on your left and big Murdo Maclennan two along from him in the middle of the back row? I agree with Liz on Shona Lyall, third in second row.

Hi John, how are you? Long time since I saw you - must have been at Cathie's. Not quite the same when passing through Alness these days and not able to pop in and see Andy & Cathie.

Liz, as you can imagine I miss Cathie and Andy an awful lot, probably more than I could express on this site. I look in every night and see that you are very active on here and I think it is great. I am living in Ellon, Aberdeenshire now (for the past 14 years) and this web-site is very important to me, in terms of trying to maintain contact with what I suppose is my heritage. I think of Donnie often and when I see your contributions to this site I can establish a real link to you and how I used to have tremendous admiration for your loyalty and indeed tenacity at that time of your life and I know that Cathie harboured that same admiration. Sentimentality obviously comes with the aging process and I love the references to events and indeed names that I see appearing on this site from my younger days. I too have loads of old photographs associated with my family and of course Inverbreakie, where life began for me and perhaps I will get round to scanning some of them and submitting them for publication on this site. Best wishes to you.
