Would the older lady be Angus's 'Aunty Jessie'? I remember this lady working in the library, which I was a frequent visitor of in 1959-1963. The library then was in Clyde Street - am I right? I am not sure who the younger lady holding the child is?

Aunty Jessie is Jess Collins, who lived in the prefabs in Joss Street. She was librarian in the small library in Clyde Street for many years. I was a pal of Ian Collins, her son, and we used to get the job of putting the returned books back on the shelves, after the library was closed.

It's nice to see this picture with Jessie Collins. We were so excited when we had the library in Clyde Street. Her son, Ian, was in school with me.

Sorry I made a mistake!!! It was CHARLES who was in school with me. Ian was that wee bit younger.

Rosalie, Charlie was also in school with me. Didn't he go into the London Metropolitan police?

Charlie Collins served his time as a painter and decorator with John Reid, in Invergordon, and moved down to London to carry on as a decorator. He got himself married down there, and has one son. He still lives in the Notting Hill area of London.

Harry, I think that Charles did go to the Metro police but I haven't heard anything about him. Perhaps there are others on the site who have more information.

Charlie Collins is indeed a painter/decorator and still lives in London. He does visit Invergordon regularly in fact he is here at the moment. Ian Collins is my father in law and sadly passed away in Nov 2014.

Hi Jackie, say Hi to Charlie from me. I remember the laughs we had in school, especially in room 15.
