Flying Boat at Invergordon

A Felixstowe flying boat at its moorings in the harbour during 1924. The aircraft was used for fishery protection patrols.

This is almost certainly moored at the Admiralty Pier because of the large buildings in the left background. The flat tops of some of the tanks can be seen in the right background, which were - and still are - on the Seabank Tank Farm.

This is the Admiralty pier, and the big building just above the flying boat is the old "Target repair shop". It was full of timber and rope, and had some of the best rigging and carpentry tools I have ever seen.

Can anyone remember all the crashed seaplanes which used to be pulled up by the ferry slip and dragged up to the triangle of ground between Ferry Row and the old cement shed? I can remember at least 5 Catalinas being brought in after they had sunk at their moorings - seems as if somebody had forgotten to close the side blisters - oops!

Can anyone tell me if there are any flying boats that were not recovered from the water?
