I noted in John Fraser's comments elsewhere that there was a lack of school pictures of classes 2 years ahead of his. The attached photo, which I believe fits this category, was taken in 1953/4? See also picture #892 for another photo.

Classmates that I can identify are as follows:
Back Row: Sandy Mackenzie, Charles Pearson, John Logan, David Ogilvy, Kenneth Boyd, ?, John Ross, ?.
3rd row: James Walker, Sheila Hoy, Flora Ross, Margaret O’Neill, Margaret Mitchell, Avril (Judy) Pritchard, Anne Lawson, Violet Morrison, ?.
2nd row: Helen Ross, Thelma Simpson, Sheena Mackenzie (me), Noreen Gunn, Maureen Borley,?, Helen ?.
Front row: ?, Michael Ross, Sandy Cooper, John Pirie.

Hi Sheena, yes it is true this is the first picture I have seen of a class a year or two ahead of me also. My sister is in this one - she tells me she can't remember her class having any pictures taken. I will be showing her this one...I recognise a few, did not realise that James Walker was in this class but here he is. I interrupted your class numerous times when sent by Miss Macmillan to borrow Leakies strap, of course he offered to belt me too, when I picked up the strap and when I returned it...

Although it is more than 50 years since I left Invergordon Academy, and the Highlands, may I suggest some names to blanks (?) in the photo. The three I shall attempt to identify are, in my opinion from Alness. Back row, 3rd from right, Donald Fraser, who lived at Dalmore Distillery. Front row, far left - Tommy Macdonald ( first name could be wrong ) whose elder brother John Macdonald, was the Manager of Dalmore Distillery for many years. In the middle row, standing, far right, Charlie Munro, who later in life ran and owned Hugh Munro, the Butcher's shop in the High street in Alness. It shall be interesting to see what comments my suggested names bring forth. I am sure Harry O'Neill in Canada, whose sister Margaret is in this photo, will be able to get her to confirm these names.

Hi there...Sheena, one of the girls in the above picture, is my step sister and I am trying to track down some family information and thought you may be able to help me. If you would like to send me an email I will fill you in on the few details I have and maybe you could add some light to my family history....sorry if this is not the right place to do this but I can't find where you can contact people.
