Saltburn, looking east

The present-day Saltburn, looking east. This is the eastern half of the village and can be compared with picture #865. On the left is No. 48, 'Fairview', with No. 50 'The Sheiling', next door.

Nice picture, has not changed much over the years, except for lighting and pavement on south side, I don't remember that. Does anyone out there remember "The black wifie?", think her first name was Annie that lived here...

I have my grandmother's marriage certificate from 1966. She was aged 58. The witnesses are George Ross and Catherine Ross, Fairview, Saltburn. I recall going to Fairview but not the people. Does anyone have any photographs? My grandmother was Margaret Macmillan Dent or Hutcheson, married to Robert Watson in 1966 of Eskdale, Saltburn. I was at the wedding!

I think her name was Annie McCloud, I believe she was related to my grandmother "Margaret Watson " who lived at Eskdale. I still have a pair of very old glasses that were hers, I found them in my mothers belongings when she passed away!!
