Billy, do you know anything about Hector Macdonald? I guess he left shortly after this picture was taken as he is not on your Primary 5 photograph and I cannot remember him as an older boy. Hector was always good fun, I liked him a lot and wonder if anyone out there knows where he is living and how he is?

Billy, you forgot to mention your sweetheart Norah; any idea where she is now?
Added by Harry O'Neill on 30 May 2006
Hi Anne. No, I know nothing about Hector's whereabouts. I have tried to track him down as he was a particular friend of mine. I believe he lost his dad (drowned) when he was very small and his mother taught piano. I have another picture of him at one of my birthday parties so must dig it out and post it to this site. Other lost friends I would like to contact are Fraser (Booby) Legge and Alex Sutherland.

No Harry, I don't know what happened to Norah. I left Inverg in '57 and largely lost touch with all my old friends. Norah lived down the Shore Road way, I think her Mam had quite a hard life as she was on her own. Lots of Inverg families had it tough in those days - and some families were very big. One of the nice things about these old photos is the traditional names - nothing pretentious or show-biz orientated.

The one on the far right is my brother Colin Brownhill. I'm not sure if that is me on the far left (George "Spider" Brownhill). Norah is my Aunt (my mother's sister) and I believe she lives somewhere near Bolton.

George, elsewhere on this site someone mentioned that Norah is no longer around, I hope you are right. By the way it was always good to have you in my class as it meant I wasn’t the smallest! You had one of the more memorable nicknames as it was properly descriptive, unlike some nicknames which were a mystery. I still don’t know why I was called "Tufty" - someone told me it also had been my Dad’s nickname.

George, I am Sally's daughter Kathleen and my mum said that it is you on the end and uncle Colin on the far right. My mum has been searching for info on Norah for a while now and has been told that she has passed away a while ago. The info regarding this is on picture #358 on this site.

I am "Spider" Brownhill and it is my brother Colin who is on opposite end (not Gordon).

Hello George! Are you still in Invergordon? The original photograph of the one above is hanging on a wall in my house so you are always looking down on me.

I can confirm Joan Maclean my mother is in the front row with the white shoes 5 from the right.
