The Will Family

A family picture taken at the cement shed. Perhaps names can be put to faces and an accurate date given - 1950 is just a guess.
Picture added on 04 August 2013 at 17:42
Good pic Gordon, in back row first left looks like Roy Daniels then I think it is a Russell girl, then Derek Will?
Looks like Mary Russell on left and my mother Ryall on right.
Front 2nd left might be David Russell and Jimmy Will on right. Might be myself front left with the old bowl haircut.
The date you give is close maybe '52.
Added by Harry O'Neill on 04 August 2013
I think the Russell girl's first name was Barry?
Added by Harry O'Neill on 04 August 2013
Unknown, Derek's Wife Jean, and Derek;
Middle: unknown, could be Gordon, and Ryall Dunn;
Front: unknown, unknown, and Jimmy Will.
Added by Doug Will on 05 August 2013
Roy Daniels, Jean (Derek's wife), and Derek.
Middle row thought it was Margaret (Harry's sister), me and Ryall.
Front row Harry O'Neill, unknown, and Jimmy Will.

Hi Gordon, it's not Margaret although she might know who it is. I got most of them right. I remember the bench, it was quite popular on a sunny day.

Is this the same Roy Daniels who worked on the weighbridge at Invergordon Distillery in the late '60s? Married to Dorothy Swanson as I recall and a really cheery guy despite his medical issues.
Added by George Mackay on 07 August 2013
Yes, same one George, he was my cousin.
Added by Harry O'Neill on 07 August 2013
You can see that's my pop Derek - is that my nan Jean - not sure, looks different to the photos I have when she was young?
Added by Sarah-Jean Turner on 12 August 2013
I'm almost certain top centre is Barry Russell.
Added by Willie Mackay on 26 August 2013
I'm with you Willie and I lived next door to her.
Added by Harry O'Neill on 26 August 2013
No being funny but I thought that Barry Russell was a chap. Or he was when I lived in Inverg or are we talking about another Russell?
Added by Doug Will on 26 August 2013
You could be right Willie - now looked closer at photo - bit to early for it to be Jean.
Added by Gordon Will on 26 August 2013
Far from it Doug, the boys were Billy and George and David. Yes Gordon don't think Derek was married this early.
Added by Harry O'Neill on 26 August 2013
It is definitely Barry Russell.
Added by Catherine Mackenzie (nee Clark) on 27 August 2013
Sorry, old age creeping in, yes it was Billy Russell.
Added by Doug Will on 27 August 2013
There was also Sandy I think older than Billy - he carried me home to Clyde Street after cutting my foot in the sea at the ferry slip; I would be about five or six.
Added by Willie Mackay on 03 September 2013
Yes you are correct Willie, Catherine Mackenzie (Clark) had just reminded me. He must have been the oldest.
I think most of us stepped on glass on the pristine beaches we had.

Just seen this. That is Mary Russell on the left of the middle row. She was in my class in school. I reckon '52 is closer to the time?
Added by Bill Geddes on 07 September 2013
Definitely Barrie Russell top middle. Left side Roy Daniels and Derek Will on the right. Gordon Will in the middle of middle row next to Ryall Dunn. Harry on the left bottom row and Jimmy Will on the right.
