Grandparents Jim and Cathy Askew

This is a photo of my late grandparents Jim and Cathy Askew taken at the front gate of their then home 'Viewfirth' subsequently known as the Viewfirth Hotel, Foxes and now Tuckers Inn.
As young children, my sister and I loved the freedom and space that Viewfirth house and garden provided with lots of scope for adventure.
The photograph was taken about 1965 I think, possibly on the occasion of my Grandfather being given the Imperial Service Order/medal on retiral from the Admiralty pilot boat.

Graeme, I remember your grandfather, a very pleasant and quiet man. He must have been on the pilot boat after my grandfather Fachy Dunn who retired in 1956. I remember your grandfather from other parts of the dockyard and he may have been on the gate at one time?
This is an excellent photo of him.
