Old Lachie 'Tarrol' Munro

My grandfather in later life working at the harbour.

Great photo, brings back memories. He is probably hauling the sling full of cement to the Lorry. I did this job and my boss was Hec Macrae. It was easy if the ship was level but if it leaned to the firth-side it was a heavy pull. I would say the date was correct, likely cement for the Hydro-dams.

I remember Lachie Tarrol and Hechie Macrae too. Did Lachie ever work in Jimmy Andrews' garage in Clyde Street?

This photo is of 'Old Lachie', my grandad. My Dad was also Lachie and he worked at Jim Andrews Garage on Clyde Street. Jim and his wife were a lovely old couple. I have photos of them somewhere which I'll post. Lachie Munro III
