Harbour Area Redevelopment

The second picture recording the redevelopment of the harbour area (see picture #1447). This view is north-west with Shore Road in the foreground and the cottages and Ship Inn beyond. Again the date is very approximate.

It was just the shore side of the corrugated building where the old naval targets were and being broken up by my father and Sandy Russell senior. Somewhere in the Press and Journal is a photograph of the two of them holding some of the shells which had hit the hull of the targets. If my memory serves me right this would have been just before the 2nd war started.
