The View South East from Lower Kincraig Farm

The large version shows more detail. To the left is the 'airfield'. The line of trees in the middle left of the picture marks the course of the Black Ditch and the Oil Seed Rape can be seen moving towards full bloom. The second field in the background is immediately north of Mains Farm and the Castle Woods can be seen in the background on the right.
The building showing above the trees in the middle right background is that of Trouw Aquaculture.

Excellent group of pictures Malcolm.nice to see this area relatively untouched. It is exactly as I remember it with the trees and all. I hope this fertile farm land remains and does not get taken over by industry or housing. My dog used to raise the odd Hare in these fields.

Thank you for your comment, Harry. It’s great to have such pleasant walking territory on the doorstep and that it hasn’t changed over the years.
You mention redevelopment and it’s pleasing to see the site in Joss Street now being built on. I know that a previous Local Plan of quite a few years ago had designated the fields south of Mains Farm for possible future development for housing but I don’t know if that is still the situation. At the time it was thought that priority should be given to sorting out the old Seabank Tank Farm site for housing and recreational use, but that area is fraught with environmental problems and is in private ownership. Again, I’ve no idea what the current situation is.
