Proud Grand-Parents

Proud grand-parents with their beautiful grandchildren. I should know where this was taken, maybe on the Castle grounds.
Left to right, my grandmother, my cousin Coleen Birch, my cousin Carol Daniels and my grandfather Fachy, and of course the dog Rega. Taken in the mid 1950s.

Lovely photo of your grand parents, Harry. Also of Coleen and Carol.

This picture was taken outside the lodge house where Mr and Mrs Mackay lived. Sadly the house is no longer there, it is now the entrance to Rosskeen Drive.

Thanks John, of course, I remember now. You say the house is gone, what of the gardens?

Hi Harry, I am afraid the gardens are gone as well, but fortunately they have kept the garden walls. Behind the garden walls they have built an old folks home. The area from where the lodge used to be is now housing.

I remember your grandparents so well Harry. Every time I see a photo of your Grandmother I remember the hundreds of dolls she dressed and donated to charity and just went her own quiet way about doing it. No fuss or fanfare.
